What is Asbestos?	Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral-based material that is resistant to heat and corrosive chemicals.
	Asbestos appears as a whitish fibrous material. Airborne asbestos fibers can cause health damage and may be too small to see with the naked eye.

What are the types of Asbestos?	There are four types of Asbestos:
	(1) Chrysotile- white, fine flexible fibers. This is the most commonly used type in the U.S. (2) Amosite- Brown, straight brittle fibers. Most commonly used in thermal system insulation. (3) Crocidolite- Straight blue fibers, used in high temperature applications. (4) Anthopyllite, Tremolite, Actinolite- Extremely rare, little commercial value and are usually found as contaminates in asbestos containing materials.

What are the dangers of asbestos exposure?	Exposure to asbestos can cause:
	(1) ASBESTOSIS- scarring of the lungs, which in an accelerated state can cause death. (2) MESOTHELIOMA- cancer affecting the membrane lining of the lungs also can cause death. (3) LUNG CANCER (4) CANCER- of the esophagus, stomach, colon, and rectum.
